Following intense competition from other coffee machines suppliers in the region Orbis has been successful in being awarded the opening Contracts for both the new Dusit Abu Dhabi and Conrad Hotel in Dubai. Both hotels are expected to open towards the end of Q3 2012.
Purdey's Sales at the top
Just 9 months after launch in the UAE, Purdey's Multivitamin Fruit Drink has hit the top spot by volume when compared to all other Orbis juice products. The drink which has been in the UK since 1985 and is owned by Britvic is marketed as an adult all natural refresher drink with the logo 'Time to Rejuvenate'. Best selling spots include the Waitrose in the Dubai Mall and the Spinneys in Motor City.

Ethiopia set for strong 2012 crop
Following a visit to the various coffee growers and co-operatives in Addis Ababa CEO of Orbis Coffee, Justin Clarke has reported a good start to the growing season and good rains across the south and west of the Country. "All regions and in particular the Yirgacheffe and Sidamo regions look to be particularly good for the forthcoming year" he reported. Justin was also able to spend time with Tadesse Meskela of the Oromia Coffee Growers Co-operative (view video) and Helen Gebrenigus of HGN Coffee.
Westin Abu Dhabi coffee machines
Orbis have been awarded the Contract to supply the coffee machines for the forthcoming Westin Hotel in Abu Dhabi which is expected to launch Summer 2011. CEO, Justin Clarke stated, "We are delighted to have been awarded the Contract against some very stiff competition in the final stages. The challenge of getting a hotel up and running is never an easy one and we will be working closely with the management to ensure the coffee side runs smoothly."

New 1Kg Coffee Bag Launched!
Following in the footsteps of the successful re-launch of the 250g coffee bags for Dubai Duty Free, Orbis has today launched the new 1Kg valve bags for wholesale use. The valve technology preserves the freshness of the coffee by allowing CO2 to escape, a natural process after roasting whilst keeping the air out. The picture on the front is the actual arm from the cooling tray of one of the roasters at the Orbis Coffee Roastery.
Orbis Appointed to Dubai SME list of 100 Top Companies, Achieves 44th place
We are delighted to let you know that Orbis Foods has been ranked in the prestigious Dubai SME 100 listing. At the ceremony on 12th February in Dubai the award was presented by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Orbis achieved a ranking of 44th out of the 72,000 SME companies in Dubai.
RMAL Hospitality Signs Group Deal
The RMAL Group and Orbis Foods have announced a long term tie up for fresh roasted coffee and machines in their UAE restaurants. RMAL which operates restaurants that include Frankies, Wagamamas, Trader Vics, Mai Tai and the soon to open Wheelers of St James at DIFC, will have an exclusive 100% Arabica blend which will be used across the brands.
“We are delighted to be continuing our association with Orbis Foods” said Simon Penhaligan, Director of Operations at the RMAL Group. “This continues our strategy of working with a smaller number of high quality suppliers and adds to the juices, nuts and mineral waters that are already supplied to us by Orbis.” Justin Clarke, CEO and Founder at Orbis Foods said, “ We have been providing fresh roasted coffee from our Dubai based coffee roastery to Frankies Restaurant for some time now so this is confirmation that our coffees are appreciated at all levels within the group. Orbis are very pleased to have been awarded another major coffee machinery supply contract, this time for the Anantara managed Eastern Mangroves project in Abu Dhabi. "This Contract which is to be fulfilled this year for over 25 machines and associated equipment marks another milestone in a remarkable year says Justin Clarke", CEO of Orbis. The Contract includes coffee machines from Jura (Swiss), Nuova Simonelli (Italian) and Bravilor (Belgium).
