Eclectic Tea at Comptoir 102
Owner and creator of the lovely new Comptoir 102 Store and Cafe, Alexandra Montaudouin tries one of the new Viceroy Green Teas. The Cafe is located on Beach Road in Jumeirah, Dubai and is well worth a visit if you are looking for an unusual gift, furniture item or art piece. Think Paris cool with vintage retro!

Blue Keld at Wheelers DIFC
The newly opened Wheelers restaurant at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is now serving Blue Keld mineral water! The source of Blue Keld is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds in England. It produces a so-called artesian water, which means that the water builds up enough pressure underground to bubble to the surface naturally. The water spends many years travelling and filtering through layers of limestone.

Coffee Machine Contracts for Dusit and Conrad
Following intense competition from other coffee machines suppliers in the region Orbis has been successful in being awarded the opening Contracts for both the new Dusit Abu Dhabi and Conrad Hotel in Dubai. Both hotels are expected to open towards the end of Q3 2012.
Thai Nichi Industries forge closer ties with Orbis Foods
Orbis Foods CEO, Justin Clarke met with Thai Nichi Industries, a leading snack food producer in the region at their factory in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Thai Nichi CEO, Jirapin Hayakawa and Sales Manager James Kaentrakool discussed several new snack items to add to the existing Orbis range and included a tour of the HACCP certified production facilities.
Rock Candy goes live at DDF
Our unique Dubai Rock Candy was launched today, 10th June, onto 6 cashier tills at Dubai Duty Free (DDF). The fruit flavoured candy which is a traditional gift in many parts of the world is also our first product to be labelled in both English and Chinese capturing over 80% of the travelers through Dubai Airport. Ethiopia set for strong 2013 crop
Following a visit to the various coffee growers and co-operatives in Addis Ababa CEO of Orbis Coffee, Justin Clarke has reported a good start to the growing season and good rains across the south and west of the Country. "All regions and in particular the Yirgacheffe and Sidamo regions look to be particularly good for the forthcoming year" he reported. Justin was also able to spend time with Tadesse Meskela of the Oromia Coffee Growers Co-operative (view video) and Helen Gebrenigus of HGN Coffee.

We're delighted to award the best Cappuccino of the month to Alexandra at the Armani Hotel, Dubai. Alexandra started working at the Armani 2 years back after arriving in Dubai from her home country of Romania. She now works at Armani/Lounge so be sure to ask for a coffee from Alexandra next time you visit. Orbis has created a special 100% Arabica coffee blend for the Armani hotel which is served throughout the Burj Khalifa.
Record Fast Delivery of Kona Coffee
Orbis Foods has completed an order to a leading US Navy warship. After a request for Hawaii Kona coffee from a ship inbound to Jebel Ali, Orbis Foods procured sufficient fresh green coffee direct from a leading grower in Hawaii which was then air freighted to Dubai and roasted fresh by Orbis. The ship which has now left for deployment with plenty of the smooth and sweet Kona available!
Pu-erh Aged Tea now in the UAE
In another first, our preserved and aged Pu-erh Tea has arrived from Yunnan in Southern China. To use you 'scrape' away a chunk and place in a tea-pot. Has rich, smooth and earthy tastes with complex overtones ranging from plums to dates to chocolate. Like nothing ever seen here before!
New 1Kg Coffee Bag Launched!
Following in the footsteps of the successful re-launch of the 250g coffee bags for Dubai Duty Free, Orbis has today launched the new 1Kg valve bags for wholesale use. The valve technology preserves the freshness of the coffee by allowing CO2 to escape, a natural process after roasting whilst keeping the air out. The picture on the front is the actual arm from the cooling tray of one of the roasters at the Orbis Coffee Roastery.
Bespoke Candy a hit with hotels
With orders coming in from Jumeirah, Rotana and Desert Palm our idea of producing bespoke candy for the hospitality sector appears to have taken off! Orbis Appointed to Dubai SME list of 100 Top Companies
We are delighted to let you know that Orbis Foods has been ranked in the prestigious Dubai SME 100 listing. At the ceremony on 12th February in Dubai the award was presented by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Orbis achieved a ranking of 44th out of the 72,000 SME companies in Dubai.
RMAL Hospitality Signs Group Deal
The RMAL Group and Orbis Foods have announced a long term tie up for fresh roasted coffee and machines in their UAE restaurants. RMAL which operates restaurants that include Frankies, Wagamamas, Trader Vics, Mai Tai and the soon to open Wheelers of St James at DIFC, will have an exclusive 100% Arabica blend which will be used across the brands.
“We are delighted to be continuing our association with Orbis Foods” said Simon Penhaligan, Director of Operations at the RMAL Group. “This continues our strategy of working with a smaller number of high quality suppliers and adds to the juices, nuts and mineral waters that are already supplied to us by Orbis.” Justin Clarke, CEO and Founder at Orbis Foods said, “ We have been providing fresh roasted coffee from our Dubai based coffee roastery to Frankies Restaurant for some time now so this is confirmation that our coffees are appreciated at all levels within the group. Orbis are very pleased to have been awarded another major coffee machinery supply contract, this time for the Anantara managed Eastern Mangroves project in Abu Dhabi. "This Contract which is to be fulfilled this year for over 25 machines and associated equipment marks another milestone in a remarkable year says Justin Clarke", CEO of Orbis. The Contract includes coffee machines from Jura (Swiss), Nuova Simonelli (Italian) and Bravilor (Belgium).
